PhD in Prehistory from the University of Valencia, currently I am an Excellence Researcher at the Jaume I University of Castelló. Previously I have been a researcher and lecturer at the Universities of Barcelona, València and Toulouse. My specialty is the study of the Palaeolithic and Mesolithic of Western Europe through its material culture, especially in the Mediterranean area. I have conducted excavations at more than a dozen Palaeolithic and Mesolithic sites throughout the Mediterranean Iberia. Among those that I am currently directing, we can highlight those of Coveta de la Foia (Vilafranca) or Cueva del Arco (Cieza). Another of my research topics is prehistoric art, where it should be noted that in recent years my team has made some of the most spectacular discoveries of Levantine rock art in the Mediterranean Iberia, such as the Volta Espessa and La Ferranda sites (Vilafranca, Els Ports).

Throughout my career, I have directed many research projects focused both on the prehistoric settlement of the Mediterranean Iberia, and on the study and enhancement of various Levantine Rock Art sites. At the moment I am part, as IP (senior researcher) at the UJI, of the European project "Breaking barriers between Science and Heritage approaches to Levantine Rock Art through Archaeology, Heritage Science and IT (LArcHer)", funded by the European Research Council (ERC ). All these investigations have been reflected in more than 90 publications, both nationally and internationally, which have made it possible to put the Mediterranean Iberia in the spotlight of some of the main research topics of European Prehistory.
