Miriam Navlani García obtained her B.Sc. in Chemistry from the University of Alicante in 2008 and her PhD in Material Science from the same university in 2014. Her PhD Thesis was about the use of zeolites for environmental applications, such as their utilization as hydrocarbon traps for the abatement of cold-start emissions from the gasoline vehicles, and the production and purification of hydrogen. During that period, she visited several national and international research centres, such as the "Instituto de Carboquímica" of Zaragoza, and the University of Osaka (Japan). After getting her PhD, she moved to the University of Osaka, when she worked as an Assistant Professor in the Division of Materials and Manufacturing Science, Graduate School of Engineering (2015-2017). After that first postdoctoral period, she was awarded with a prestigious and highly competitive JSPS Postdoctoral Fellowship for Research in Japan (Standard), awarded by the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science. After nearly 4 years of postdoctoral experience abroad, and thank to the program to support talented researchers (Plan GenT Program) funded by the Valencian Community, Dr Navlani García joined the University of Alicante in 2019 as a Distinguished Researcher in the Carbon Materials and Environment group (ascribed to the Inorganic Chemistry Department) and the Institute of Materials Science.

Her research interests are focused on the design and development of nanomaterials for environmental and catalytic applications, such as the purification and production of hydrogen and the CO2 valorization.

As a result of her research, Dr Navlani García is an author/co-author of more than 35 papers in international scientific journals, one patent and several book chapters, Also, she has presented more than 30 contributions to national and international scientific conferences, and she has participated in several projects related to teaching innovation of the University of Alicante. Besides, she is the recipient of various recognitions, including a Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions Seal of Excellence awarded by the European Commission.
