Vicent Baydal is an Associate Professor at the Department of Private Law at the Jaume I University, coordinator of the research group FORVAL - Valencian History and Law, official chronicler of the city of Valencia and member of the International Commission for the History of Representative and Parliamentary Institutions. Doctor in History at the Pompeu Fabra University and a postdoctoral research fellow at Corpus Christi College at the University of Oxford, he is author of nine research monographs and over forty articles and book chapters related to the history of taxation and parliamentarism during the late Middle Ages, which constitute his main line of work; he has also carried out research on royal chronicles, municipal correspondence and the building of long-term collective identities. Currently he is the principal investigator of the SEJI project of the Generalitat Valenciana "Acta Curiarum Regni Valentiae", for the transcription and study of the medieval parliamentary acts of the Kingdom of Valencia.
