Jordi Gamir has a Cum Laude doctorate from the Jaume I University of Castellón (2014). After two postdoctoral stages at the University of Friburgo (Switzerland, 2015-2016) and the CSIC centre, Estación experimental del Zaidín (Granada, 2017-2018), he has been incorporated as a distinguished researcher by the GenT (CDEIGENT) program in the Jaume I University of Castellón.

His research is based on the study of plants' immune system to reduce the use of pesticides that are harmful to people's health. Knowing the signalling and response mechanisms at the molecular level makes it possible to boost plant defence responses against viruses, bacteria, fungi, and insects. This research line aims to apply the directive launched by the European Commission, 2009/128 / CEE, whose goal is to reduce the use of pesticides and promote the use of sustainable products that are not harmful to human health and the environment.

He has received four postdoctoral fellowships (among which are the Juan de la Cierva formación/incorporación), participated in nine national and international projects and four technology transfer projects with various companies in the agrochemical sector. He is the author of 21 scientific articles and two book chapters, all of them peer-reviewed.
